Practice What You Preach

Life, in the shade of the Islamic Creed, has taught me

That I should, as far as possible, practice what I preach

And whoever preach what they don’t practice and call others to do

They actually make fun of themselves

Like the camels dying of thirst in the desert while water is carried on their backs

Like someone who washes the clothes of others while wearing filthy, dirty clothes

You hope to be saved but you don’t take the safe path, verily, the ship will not sail on dry land

When a dead body is carried on the bier it will not remember the life they lived

On the Day of Resurrection neither wealth nor sons will avail, when you are put in in the grave this world and all its pleasures will become nothing

First begin with yourself and restrain it from wrongdoing, for only then you will succeed

Only then your words will be valuable, effective, and exemplary

Do not condemn an action and then behave in that same manner, it is a terrible disgrace upon you

Therefore, adhere to that which is beneficial for you

And, as far as possible, practice what you preach:

“It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not.” (As-Saff 61:3)
