Leading Prayer for Women

There is a consensus among scholars that it is not allowed for a woman to lead men or both man and women in prayer whether the prayer is performed inside or outside mosques, and whether they are daily prayers or Friday Prayer and `Eid Prayer. However, it is permissible for a woman to lead the congregational prayer of women.

Leading Prayer, however, is restricted to male Imams only when the congregation consists of men and women both, and whether the prayer is performed at the mosques or elsewhere and whether they are daily prayers or Friday Prayer and `Eid Prayer.
