Unity Is Strength

Unity Is Strength

Life has taught me, in light of the Islamic Creed (`agidah) that unity and intimacy among believers is a source of power

and that division and dissension lead to weakness

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much

One is nothing without his brothers just like the hand and wrist; attached together

There’s no use for the hand when cut off from the arm

`Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “one is given nothing after Islam better than a righteous friend,

reminding one of Allah. So, if anyone sees kindness from his friend, let him hold on to him.”

Hold fast to your friend; cling to him with your molar teeth (stubbornly), and you will be victorious

Al-Hassan says: “Our brothers (in Islam) are dearer to us than our families and children. Our families remind us of this world, whereas our brothers in Islam remind us of the Hereafter and help us overcome hardships in this life.”

`Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “By Allah, were it not for sitting among a group of people who pick out beautiful words to say just as fruits is picked out, I would long ago have preferred to die and meet Allah.”

When a group of ants met a camel they said to each other, ‘let’s get away from it lest it crushes us’, one of the ants said, ‘no, gather together and we will beat it!

Spears don’t break if they are in a bunch, but if parted they are broken as individuals.

We are one structure, one body, one Ummah; the adhan may be called out in China while Muslims engage in Iqama for prayer in the West

“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it.” (Aal `Imran 3:103)
