Offering sunnah or voluntary prayers before Jumuah Prayer

Question: 

What is the ruling of offering sunnah or voluntary prayers before Jumuah (Friday) Prayer? 

Answer:

In the name of Allah, we praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.

The most correct view in this matter is that of the Maliki and Hanbali Schools of jurisprudence that there is no emphatic Sunnah prayer before the (Jumuah) Friday prayer. This was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them). However, after performing the two rak`ahs of salutation to the mosque, one may perform as many supererogatory prayers as he wishes.
